Life Legacy

Mr. Richard Dean Tilley, age 73, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Glenflora Assisted Living of Lumberton. He was born in Camden, Maine on September 12, 1941 to the late George and Mary Inman Tilley. He formerly served and retired from the US Army (E-8).

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Prevatte Tilley.

He is survived by a son, Alvin Junius Bullock, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Raleigh; two brothers: Herbie Tilley and wife, Alma, of Old Town, FL and Robert Tilley of Butte, Montana; and two grandchildren: William Clifton Carroll Bullock of Raleigh and Mary Amelia Bush and husband, Byron, also of Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.

A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 2074 Wiregrass Road, Lumberton, NC 28358 or to Glenflora Assisted Living Facility, 5701 N. Fayetteville Road, Lumberton, NC 28358.

Richard was a resident of Lumberton, North Carolina at the time of passing.

Richard was married to Rachel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.
