Thomas Robert Skidmore

1927 - January 26, 2018

Thomas Robert Skidmore of Cary, son of the late Rose Nolan and Alfred Skidmore, died on January 26, 2018 at the age of 90. Thomas was born in Newark, New Jersey and was the last surviving member of the seven Skidmore children comprised of five sons and two daughters. All five sons served in various military services. Thomas observed his 18th birthday on Okinawa just prior to the end of World War II.

He worked in management positions for several major corporations and governmental agencies. He was also active in politics at the county, state, and federal levels.

He is survived by his wife Carmel, daughter Pamela, son Keith, son Glenn, and two granddaughters, Chelsea Leigh Holland and Versaille Skidmore.

A Memorial Service will be held at the North carolina Cremation Society in Raleigh on Sunday, April 15th. Friends and family will gather at 1:00 pm. The Service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army are requested.
