It is with sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Allen Mattson at the age of 80. Al passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2024 in Cary, North Carolina.

Allen Mattson, was known by many as Big Al, Mad Dog or Grandpa Al. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran who served our country at a very young age. Al went on to become a bus driver for many years in New York City which is where he met his beloved wife, Valorie.

Big Al was a devoted husband, step father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Valorie, 2 sisters, 4 step children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held in New York.
