Albert (Toby) Samuel Roberts, Jr.

SEPTEMBER 7, 1943– DECEMBER 8, 2025

Albert Samuel “Toby” Roberts, Junior passed away of sepsis on Monday December 8 in Cary, North Carolina surrounded by his family.

He was born September 7, 1943 in Newport News, Virginia to Marie Louise Slocum Roberts and Albert Samuel Roberts, Senior. He grew up in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, the oldest and remaining survivor of his siblings Morrie, Robin and Henry. Toby attended the University of Pennsylvania and was then commissioned in the United States Marine Corps. He served in both Vietnam and Cuba. After his service, he returned to the University of Pennsylvania to earn his Masters in Architecture. He married Jean and they had two children Casey and Sam.

Toby worked as an architect in Birmingham, Alabama, Durham, North Carolina and finally Altoona, Pennsylvania. Casey married John Croes and they gave Toby and Jean two granddaughters, Emma and Moxie. Sam married Katie Zolkowski and they gave them a grandson, Toby and a granddaughter, Zoe. Thankfully, Toby’s grandson got his hair growing ability from his mother.

Toby is survived by his wife Jean, and his children Casey and Sam as well as their children. He is also survived by his beloved Marine Corps.
