Alfred Hugh Tucker, Jr., better known as Hugh his entire life passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Transitions Hospice after a 2 1/2 year illness. He was born in Columbia, North Carolina on June 12, 1941 to Alfred Hugh Tucker and Minnie Ruth Cox Tucker. He was 79.

His early years were spent in Grimesland, North Carolina and after graduation from Grimesland High School in 1959 he attended ECU before joining the Navy where he was honorably discharged after serving 5 years. He spent the next 30 plus years working at IBM and after early retirement he enjoyed travelling the world visiting over 89 countries and all 50 states.

He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 32 years, Annette, a daughter, Elizabeth Martin and her husband Blaine, a son, John, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and Annette's family. Also surviving him are three sisters, Ruth Sigmon, Patricia Tripp and Lula Heath and their families.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Tucker.

As he wished, there will be no services.
