Curtis Morris

Curtis Maxwell Morris, 72, of Cary, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Transitions Hospice Home in Raleigh, after a short illness.

He was born in Coco, West Virginia to the late Maxwell and Anne Marie (Anderson) Morris. Curtis worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an analytical chemist for 33 years. He was also serving as president of the Men's Auxiliary in support of the Franklin-Sloan VFW Post #7383 in Cary. Curtis and his wife Lee enjoyed traveling to historic places in their free time.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lee Nora (Chandler) Morris; son Jeff Morris and wife Jennifer of Cary; daughter Gina Mason and husband Jeff of King George, Virginia; brothers Greg Morris of Hurricane, West Virginia and Hank Morris of Elkview, West Virginia; sister Velma Sears of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren Sarah M. Bogart and husband Douglas, Curtis J. Morris, Rachel L. Morris, Victoria A. Mason, and Jordan L. Mason.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to your local Hospice organization.

Curtis' funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Matics Funeral Home in Clendenin, West Virginia with Pastor Dan Forwood officiating. Burial will be at the Hoyt Chandler Family Cemetery in Walton, West Virginia. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
