Dr. William Frank MacKenzie, 96, of Colfax, passed away Monday, October 6, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Born March 1, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harold MacKenzie, and the late Evelyn Kemper MacKenzie. Dr. MacKenzie was a US Air Force veteran and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hill MacKenzie of the home; son, Bruce MacKenzie and wife Sue of Alabama; daughter, Sharon MacKenzie of South Carolina, and Alexandra MacKenzie of Greenville; half-brother, Douglas MacKenzie and wife Katherine of Ohio; grandchildren, Adam MacKenzie, Molly Springfield and husband Ted, Bryan Emond and wife Jolie, and Michelle Nieves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Ellen Lee MacKenzie in 2009.

No services are planned.
