Wendell Kuntz III

JULY 5, 1943 – AUGUST 31, 2024

Wendell Kuntz III, 81, of Holly Springs, NC, passed away at his residence on August 31st, 2024. Wendell was born on July 5, 1943 in Washington, DC to the late Wendell and Mary Agnes (Schwab) Kuntz.

After high school graduation, Wendell joined the US Navy to serve his country aboard the USS Paiute. He worked for IBM in IT project management until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and a member of Bentwinds Golf and Country Club. He umpired for softball tournaments including the Easter Seals and Special Olympics.

He was the husband of the late Judy Kuntz of Holly Springs. Wendell is survived by a son, Scott, his wife Nicole and their children of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Dawn; a stepdaughter, Abby Buchold and her husband Greg of Houston, TX; a sister, Mary Kay (Sweets) Tanner, her husband David of Pelham, NH; a brother, James Roger Kuntz, his wife Karen of Stratham, NH. Wendell had numerous nieces and nephews around the country.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ann (Sugie) Timblin of Pittsburgh, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
